The standard recoil start and easy electric start ensures that start-up is efficient and quick, even for those with little prior knowledge of generators. The unit’s power panel includes two 120-volt, 20-amp standard household outlets to supply appliances and a powerful 120/240-volt, 30-amp twist lock outlet for tools. A 12-volt DC output with leads acts as a charger for batteries. It also includes one 120-volt, 30-amp twist lock outlet and a 120/240-volt, 50-amp heavy duty outlet (NEMA 14-50 3-pole, 4-wire). For maximum ease of use the XP10000E also includes a quiet muffler, an advanced automatic voltage regulator (AVR) system and a low oil protection system.

Satisfied DuroMax XP10000E customers have been very impressed with how the unit has capably and consistently powered various medium-large household appliances at the same time, including heavy duty air conditioning units. Users with little experience or knowledge of generators have commented that the XP10000E is extremely easy to assemble and the instruction manual both simplistic and comprehensive in terms of start-up and maintenance. Customers have also been satisfied with the variety and choice of the different electrical connections and plugs so that the unit can be used for a numerous types of appliances whether it be in the home or at the jobsite.

Although the DuroMax has received a very positive general review, a minority of users have expressed criticism at the fact that upon arrival their unit has obviously not met quality control standards as components have been damaged or below par. This coupled with the poor customer service they received made for some dissatisfied users. Some users have also commented that the unit is noisy, although noise emission is difficult to avoid in a generator of this wattage and size therefore this complaint is not out of the ordinary.

On the whole however, the DuroMax XP10000E has generated a very positive overall review due to its consistent and dependable performance and ease of use in the home as a backup power supply for power shortages or as insurance in light of impending extreme weather conditions. The unit has also received praise for being great value for money.
