The overhead valve on the OHV engine offers fuel efficiency for a longer product life. The useful automatic low oil shutdown ensures that the engine is protected and provides for easy usage. The unique V shaped folding design and folding dolly handles makes this generator safe and easy to transport whilst the 10 inch never-flat wheels ensure quick mobility. Also featuring a control panel with 2-120V 5-20R duplex outlets, 1-120/240V L14-30R outlet, 1-240V L5-30R outlet and a 1-12V dc battery charger outlet.

Customers have been satisfied with the reliability and ease of use of the PM0106507 portable generator, commenting that it supplied household appliances such as fridges and TV’s with no difficulties. The easy, fool-proof instructions have also been praised, allowing users with basic knowledge of portable power suppliers to set up the Powermate quickly and efficiently. The electric starter also makes start-up a simple process so that users can access emergency power in unforeseen blackouts.

The main criticism of the Powermate PM0106507 lies with the fact that the fuel filler hole is in a problematic location in which to behind the trim panel therefore making it difficult to fill up the fuel tank for use. However, upon purchase a funnel and tube are supplied with the generator to make refilling easier. Users have also expressed frustration when trying to connect the negative cable to the battery due to its tough location. In addition to these design fault complaints, users have commented at the smell emitted by the generator and the noise it creates, suggesting that it is placed outside (as long as it is not raining) or in an outdoor building such as a shed. Although, these are both common complaints attributed to fuel powered generators.

On the whole, users seem extremely pleased with the Powermate PM0106507 portable generator in terms of its power output and general performance in supplying back up power for outdoor projects or domestic blackouts. However, the generator would be without fault if the aforementioned design faults were adjusted to improve the ease of use for users and general aesthetics of the product.
